Cowie Signs With Sharks '22

City Rise standout Tom Cowie has returned to the Shark tank for another year as he suits up for the 2022 season with the Southland Sharks!

Adrian Wojnarowki reports - The Southland Sharks were quick in signing local legend and fan favourite Tom Cowie for the 2022 NZNBL season. While Southland were confident in retaining Cowie’s services, there were serious offers put on the table that made the bidding war one to watch. It is reported that Justin Beiber was on the lookout for a stunt double to dance for him in music videos and this was something Cowie was seriously considering. Cowie’s ability to entertain fans was also noticed by The Island Boys, as they were outsiders in attempting to poach Cowie as the 3rd member of the group and utilise his Instagram stories expertise to draw in followers.

In the end Cowie stated “While there were other interesting offers on the table and I do know how to take a nice pic, The Sharks have been my home for years and I can’t change that just because I have good dance moves. It was a no brainer to put on the orange singlet again and see the fans pack in every week”. - Woj
